LaikLynn Lee Erickson, lovingly known as Laiky, was born on February 14, 2024, in Ogden, Utah, to her loving parents, Jade Weeks and Randall Erickson. She lived her entire life in Idaho and passed away on August 24, 2026, leaving behind a family and a community forever changed by the love and light she brought into their lives.

From the moment Laiky entered this world, she was something extraordinary. Though she was born with the extremely rare disorder Trichothiodystrophy, which affected nearly every aspect of her little body, she never allowed the challenges she faced to define the beautiful life she lived. Laiky endured more than any child ever should have had to endure. She faced illness, pain, procedures, treatments, and countless difficult moments, yet somehow, through it all, she continued to give the world her beautiful smiles and contagious giggles.

Laiky fought a long and incredibly difficult battle, but she fought it with a strength far greater than her tiny body could have ever suggested. She showed everyone around her what true courage looked like. Her life was never defined by her disorder or by the things her body struggled to do. Laiky was defined by her love. She was defined by her laughter, her smiles, her determination, her sweetness, and the way she could bring light into even the darkest moments.

Laiky loved her toys and loved watching Ms. Rachel. She loved when Mommy sang to her and when her aunty played patty cake with her. She loved being snuggled by Daddy and had her own adorable ways of showing affection, including head butting Grandma and trying to bite anyone’s fingers she could get ahold of. These little things were simply Laiky being Laiky, and they are now among the most precious memories her family will ever carry.

She had a love that was pure, innocent, and unconditional. She did not need words to make people feel loved. Her smile could say everything. Her giggles could make a difficult day feel lighter. Her presence alone could bring comfort. She was the kind of child who reminded everyone around her that the greatest gifts in life are often found in the smallest moments.

LaikLynn was the purest form of love. She brought people together, softened hearts, and left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her tiny life carried a tremendous purpose. She showed her family that strength can exist in the smallest of bodies and that even a life that is far too short can leave behind a lifetime of memories.

Laiky is preceded in death by her great-grandpa Lawerence Weeks; great-grandma Evelyn Dockstader; great-grandpa Dennis Dockstader; uncle Tim Whitmore; aunts Jordan Erickson and Jerika Erickson; grandma Katie Andersen; great-grandpa Carl Erickson; and great-grandpa Joseph James Bleazard, who now welcome their precious Laiky into Heaven and surround her with the love that has been waiting for her.

She is survived by her mother, Jade Weeks, and father, Randall Erickson; her brother, Roper Lee; her brother, Randall Josiah Erickson; and her sister, Nikita Couturier.

She is also survived by her grandmothers, Tara Gentry and Jeanette Christensen; Michelle Jensen great-great-grandparents Carol and Bruce Lyon; great-grandma Tracy Booth; great-grandpa Anglo Saulls; grandpa Joe Erickson; great-grandpa Randall Payne; and great-grandma Margaret Erickson.

LaikLynn will forever be loved and remembered by her aunts, Makayla cox, Ashlyn McClure Haley Stevens, Kaitlyn Brook, Kylee Jones, Shaunie Thomas, Maygan Erickson, Krista Green, and Rebecca Loyd; and her uncles, Kayden Weeks, Mathew Tims, Brendan Myers, Taylor Heap, Dyson Weeks, and Larry Erickson.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her cousins, Serenity Tims, Sage Tims, Timberlee Tims, Kaleigh Wixom, Nevada Jones, Avenue Jones, Everlee Weeks, Kynlee Myers, Ryder Myers, Raysen Myers, Damon Heap, Lucas Heap, Huxlee Jones, Ripley Jones, Ozzy Jones, Christian Tims, Carter Erickson, Jaxtyn Erickson, Isayah, Justin Wixom, Colton Schreiber, Zara Saulls, Jazlyn Saulls, Trey Michelson, and Andrew Saulls.

Although LaikLynn’s life lasted only two years, six months, and ten days, the love she gave was immeasurable. She accomplished something in her short life that cannot be measured in years: she left a permanent piece of herself in the hearts of everyone who loved her.

Her family will forever remember her little laugh, her beautiful smile, her love of toys and Ms. Rachel, her excitement when Mommy sang to her, her happiness when her aunty played patty cake, her cuddles with Daddy, her playful head-butts to Grandma, and her sweet habit of trying to bite fingers. The little things that once made up an ordinary day with Laiky will forever be extraordinary memories.

She will be remembered as a daughter who was deeply loved, a sister who brought joy, a granddaughter who was cherished, a niece who was adored, a cousin who will never be forgotten, and a tiny warrior who fought with more courage than anyone could ever have asked of her.

Laiky’s life reminds us that a person’s impact is not measured by how many years they are given, but by how much love they leave behind. She was here. She was loved. She mattered. And she changed the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though her family must now face the unimaginable pain of continuing without her physical presence, Laiky’s love will remain woven into their lives forever. She will be found in the memories they treasure, in the laughter they remember, in the songs Mommy sang, in the little things that remind them of her, and in every moment when they feel the ache of how deeply she was loved.

LaikLynn Lee Erickson will never be forgotten. Her life was a gift, her love was a blessing, and her memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who loved her.
