Larry "Joe"
Brown
May 10, 1943 – May 1, 2026
Larry Joe Brown, lovingly known as Joe to family and friends, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 1, 2026, at the age of 82. Joe was born on May 10, 1943, in Missouri. When he was just 3 months old, his family moved to Idaho, where he spent the rest of his life building a home, raising a family, and creating lifelong friendships.
Joe proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1961 to 1969. He dedicated 44 years of hard work to Falls Brand Independent Meat Company before retiring at the age of 65.
Joe loved the outdoors and enjoyed many years of camping, motorcycle riding, golfing, and making memories with friends and family. Golf brought him plenty of laughs over the years — except for the time he fell and broke his arm, proving maybe golf wasn’t as “safe” as everyone says. More than anything, Joe loved spending time with his family. He always tried to be there for sporting events or an opportunity to support his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He taught countless kids how to ride a motorcycle and share the love of camping and family time. There was almost always a grandkid or great-grandkid sitting on his lap, and that is exactly where they wanted to be. Joe was known for giving life advice to all the kids through the years. Some listened, some didn’t, but every one of them respected his wisdom and knew his advice always came from love and experience.
Joe and his wife, Norma, built a life centered around love, hard work, and helping others. Together they selflessly helped raise their nephew after loosing his sister and has been there for several of their grandchildren in times of need, always opening their hearts and home whenever needed.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Norma Brown; his three daughters, Julie Kraus (Mike), Billie Ward (Duane), and Jennifer Thompson-Browne (Paul); and his 16 grandchildren: Chrissie Baerlocher, Racheal Ross, Mandi Brown, Tessa Clark, Stephanie Ross, Desiree Ward, McKinsey Thompson, Zack Dutt, Austin Dutt, Dayton Thompson, Kadon Thompson, Devri Humbach, Jaimon Browne, Rieley Browne, DJ Browne, and Maleacka Browne. He also leaves behind many beloved great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert & Icel, his brother, Dan, his sister Pat and a beloved son/nephew, Greg.
Joe will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud dad and grandpa, hardworking provider, and the rock of his family. The love, wisdom, laughter, and memories he gave to those around him will be carried on forever.
A Memorial Service for Joe will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 am at Wilks Funeral Homes, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301. There will be a Celebration of Life for Joe at 2:00 pm at Rock Creek RV Park, 900 Addison Ave W., Twin Falls, Idaho, 83301, at the Noah Oliver Pavilion.
