Laurel (Laurie) Denise Lower

October 6, 1954 – December 20, 2025

Laurel “Laurie” Denise Lower, born in Fresno, California, on October 6, 1954, passed away on December 20, 2025, surrounded by the same love she devoted her entire life to giving. Laurie had a gift for seeing the good in everyone—no matter who they were or where they came from. She was the kindest, most understanding soul, the one who could soothe storms with a warm smile and make anyone feel safe, seen, and deeply loved.

Laurie was many things in her beautiful life: a loving wife, a devoted mother, a proud grandma, a sister, a teacher, a nurturer, and a quiet force of strength. She loved being a mom and grandma more than anything, and her happiest days were spent caring for and supporting her family. Some of her most cherished memories came from summer trips to Island Park and Bear Lake—days filled with theater shows at the Playmill and Yellowstone Playhouse, fishing poles, golf clubs, holiday gatherings, and keeping up with her wonderfully wild grandchildren.

A lifelong learner, Laurie earned her Master’s Degree and spent her career inspiring students as a science teacher. She believed in critical thinking, curiosity, and the wonder of the world—and she passed that spirit on to her children and grandchildren. She loved reading, golfing, fishing, flowers, camping, traveling in the coach, showing up for every special event she could, and bringing people together any chance she got. If there was a family gathering, you could count on Laurie to be there with a movie recommendation, a series plot twist to discuss, or an armful of snacks for the kids.

Her home was spotless, her heart was full, and she lived her values with quiet grace: family first, love always, forgive graciously, and everyone’s uniqueness deserves to be cherished. One of her favorite phrases, “My little ladybug,” now echoes as a sweet remembrance—especially cherished by her daughter, Julee, who welcomed Laurie into Heaven after her passing.

Laurie is survived by her brothers Michael David Sanders and Ricky Lee Sanders; her granddaughters Daysha Rupp, Makenna Cresswell, and Ella Teodorovic; and countless loved ones who were touched by her gentle spirit. She is joyfully reunited in Heaven with her brother Randy Claude Sanders, her daughter Julee Lower, her son Michael Lower, her parents Meridean and Claude Sanders, and her husband Jeff Coffin.

She will be remembered as kind, caring, patient, dependable, trustworthy, and the glue that quietly held so many hearts together. Her absence leaves a space that can never be filled—but her love remains in every person she shaped.
