Leonard Jensen

Leonard Laurel Jensen, age 71, resident of Inkom, Idaho passed away peacefully Friday, March 17, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.

Leonard was born in Hartley, Iowa on February 23, 1952 to Ernest and Darlene Stilwell and was later adopted at the age of 12 by Dwight and Claudia Jensen. He is survived by his spouse, Sandra Jensen of Inkom, Idaho, his children Kristi (Jeremy) Johnson of Kennewick, Washington, Nick (Tara) Jensen of Pocatello, Idaho, Britney (Jake) Schley of Pocatello, Idaho, Jacob (Kristina) Wilcox of Lewiston, Idaho, his mother Claudia Jensen, of Cazenovia, New York, brother Darrell Stilwell of Colorado, sister Julia Kempson of Connecticut, and 12 grandchildren.

Leonard graduated from Highland High School in 1971 and attended Idaho State University. Leonard opened his own concrete/construction business in 1979, which he retired from in 2014. Leonard built and designed several homes in the Pocatello area for his family. Leonard met Sue Joslin in 1973 at JCPenny’s and they were married in 1974. They had two children, Kristi and Nick. He later met Sandra Summers and they married in 1991. Leonard and Sandra lived in Pocatello, Idaho. They moved into their dream retirement home that they built and designed in January 2020 located in Inkom, Idaho.

Leonard was a devoted family man and his motto in life was “work hard, play hard”! There was not an outdoor activity he did not do and enjoy. Leonard gave 110% in all that he did. He had passion for camping, boating, fishing, snow-machining, dirt biking, cycling – anything that would be an adventure! He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those that knew and loved him!

Leonard is preceded in death by his father Dwight Jensen.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID 83202. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 am with a viewing one hour prior.
