Leota "Ruth" Moore Germain was born on May 12, 1933, in Butler, Oklahoma to Maurice and Ruby Moore. She attended several elementary schools before entering Wilder High School in Wilder, Idaho, graduating in 1951.
It was there that she met the love of her life, Dale Germain. They were married on August 20, 1953, in Winnemucca, Nevada while Dale was on a ten day leave from Army Airborne stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Ruth was an Avon Representative for 35 years. She grew very fond of her many customers and their families. After Avon she became a gift wrapper at ZCMI. She took pride in her work and the satisfied looks she received. For many years since, she's still recognized as that "fun wrapper" from ZCMI.
Ruth's hobbies were reading, camping at Palisades, her pinochle club of 40 plus years, and Harley rides with Dale. She had a fun sense of humor and loved to laugh. She relished the yearly gathering with her five sisters every spring in Ontario, Oregon.
Ruth attended the First Assembly of God church and their bible study classes.
Ruth is survived by her four children, Dan (Nancy) Germain, Pam (Rick) Collins, Joy (Robert) Winters, and Tory (Ranee) Germain; her sister, JoAnn Winings; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; brothers, Charles and Del Moore; sisters, Jean Cowgill, Margaret Brandt, Vickey Killoran, and Grace Hammon.
The family wants to acknowledge Heritage Hospice Care for their kindness and attention to her health. A special shout out to Tenley and Jakob for their awesome care. Also, visiting angel Vicki, who spent quality time with Ruth.
Private graveside services will be held at Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho with full military honors for Dale. Interment following.
