Linda Lee Hunter Roberts, 77, passed away on February 2, 2026.

Linda was born on May 12th , 1948 in Rexburg, Idaho to Rex J. and LaRue Peabody Hunter. She passed away on the afternoon of February 2nd , 2026 in Pocatello, Idaho with her children and her sister at her side. Linda was preceded in death by her father (1975), her step-father (Milton Nelson –2008), her husband Gary Roberts (2017), and her mother (2018). She is survived by her 9 children: David Wayne Roberts (Monique), Brian Keith Roberts (Elizabeth), Valarie Ann Roberts Huerta, Tamra Lynn Roberts Christensen (Rett), Shawn Rex Roberts, Korey Dean Roberts (Mary), Kevin Wade Roberts (Anya), Jeremy Don Roberts (Cheniel), and Michael Aaron Roberts (Amanda). She is also survived by her brothers Dale Rex Hunter (Kaye), Danny Jay Hunter, Ronald Kay Hunter (Jeanine), her sister Beverly Ann Lee (Larry – recently deceased 2026), 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Linda was the oldest of five children and spent her childhood on the family farm in Egin Bench, Idaho. She learned the value of hard work from her parents who entrusted her with many responsibilities from an early age, including caring for her four younger siblings who could, at times, be quite the handful! She loved spending hours riding her horse “Trixie” and being outdoors. Being entrusted with so much responsibility so early in life imbued Linda with a seemingly limitless capacity for tackling and completing any challenge set before her from sunup to sundown, rain or shine, and blessed her with a keen mind. She was passionate about nature and could make anything grow and flourish. She loved sunsets, butterflies, flowers, gardening and camping with her family. She excelled at school and, prior to devoting her life to loving and raising her family, she dreamed of serving a mission and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and hoped, one day, to be an archeologist. While pursuing her post-secondary education at Rick’s College (now BYU Idaho), she met Gary Roberts and they were sealed for time and all eternity on May 12, 1969 in the Logan, Utah Temple.

As the years came and went, Linda was blessed with nine children and she spent every waking hour working tirelessly to teach, care for, and nurture her growing family while still finding time to magnify her love of serving her family and her community in various healthcare and elderly care positions from Draper, Utah to Montpelier, Idaho. Linda had an entrepreneurial spirit and channeled her talent for painting and crafts into a successful ceramic business and found joy in teaching others. More than anything else, she loved her family. She adored spending time with her children and grandchildren; coloring, watching chick-flicks or scary movies, painting, crocheting, playing board games and, of course, gathering around whatever table she might be sitting at to play the perennial family-favorite card game Canasta.

Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. A life-long faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served as a Primary teacher across all age levels, in the Relief Society Presidency, and innumerable other callings. She loved going to the temple and immersing herself in the teachings of the scriptures as often as time would allow. Linda devoted herself to lovingly and patiently exemplifying the teachings of Jesus Christ. She was the kindest and gentlest of souls who touched so many lives and, while her light and her love will be sorely missed by so many, that light will continue to shine through her family and the countless souls she blessed with her indomitable and caring spirit.

We love you and we miss you, sweet Linda.

We will never forget the enduring example of love, sacrifice, and service that you so selflessly set and we will shed tears of joy when we meet again in the resplendent light of our Heavenly Father’s home.

A celebration of life for Linda will be held on March 21, 2026 in Montpelier, Idaho. For more details, please contact the family.
