Linda Doris Wolfe

Linda Doris Wolfe, born March 30, 1949, in La Grande, Oregon, passed away surrounded by the legacy of creativity, compassion, and education she devoted her life to sharing with others.

Linda was a gifted artist, educator, and advocate for the arts whose work touched countless lives across Idaho and beyond. Through her involvement with the Idaho Arts Commission, she completed numerous artist residencies, inspiring communities and students alike with her passion for creativity and expression. Her art was widely admired and deeply appreciated by all who encountered it.

Linda dedicated much of her life to nurturing young artists. She taught a variety of art education programs for youth and later joined the Pocatello Charter School, where she founded and developed their art program, leaving a lasting foundation for generations of students to explore their creativity. In recognition of her profound contributions to arts education, she received the Governor’s Award in 2014.

Her artwork was displayed in numerous galleries, and her generosity extended beyond the art world. Linda was a devoted animal lover who supported local humane efforts, donated to the humane society, and created a mural for the local animal shelter — a lasting symbol of her compassion for animals, especially dogs.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Wolfe, who passed in 2024. She is survived by her sister, Sandy Bertrand; her niece, Carrie Bertrand; and her great-nephew, Henry Puerta, all of whom she loved dearly.

Linda will be remembered for her artistic spirit, her dedication to education, and her generous heart. Her work lives on in the students she inspired, the art she created, and the communities she enriched.

A celebration of life for John and Linda Wolfe will held in April 2026 with dates still yet to be determined.
