Linda Zweigart passed away on July 30, 2025.
Born on January 21, 1958, in Aberdeen, Washington, Linda later made her lifelong home in Idaho, where she created an enduring legacy of service, laughter, and boundless compassion.
Linda earned her GED and several healthcare certifications from ISU VoTech, launching a meaningful career that touched countless lives. She began as a nurse’s aide at East Gate Nursing Home, where her warmth and creativity led her to become the activities director. She later thrived in the dialysis unit as a Certified Patient Care Tech and served in the Emergency Room with unwavering dedication. Her empathy and skill in healthcare were matched only by her vibrant personality.
On February 12, 1976, Linda married her soulmate, Fred “Alfie”, with whom she raised two sons, Fritz and Nick. She found immeasurable joy in their accomplishments and took deep pride in their careers in law enforcement. Her nine grandchildren were the light of her life, each enjoying a unique and special relationship with their Grandma, who was also their beloved friend.
Linda’s playful spirit shone brightest during Halloween, her favorite holiday. At East Gate, she transformed the basement into a spook alley full of laughs and scares. Her sense of humor and love for pranks made her unforgettable—she could fill a room with laughter, often chased it with a hug, and treated even spiders with gentle respect.
Beyond her professional life, Linda volunteered as a firefighter and ambulance assistant for Inkom, and dedicated 14 years to the Pebble Creek Ski Patrol, earning a National Ski Patrol
System certificate in 2009. She loved the outdoors—camping, biking, swimming, skiing, and golfing—and brought joy and light to every adventure.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Fred Zweigart; her sons Fritz (Carol) Zweigart and Nick (Andee) Zweigart; nine grandchildren; sisters Theresa (Terry) Southwood, Sheryl Talbot, and Kim (Carrie) Olson; brothers Gary (Christy) Anderson, and Earl (Julie) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews who adored her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
A celebration of Linda's extraordinary life will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Wilk’s Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID.
In lieu of flowers, Linda’s family kindly requests that donations be made to local animal shelters, humane societies, or animal rescue organizations in her honor—a reflection of her lifelong love for all creatures.
Her laughter, love, and legacy will live on in every heart she touched.
