Lucille Elizebeth Krein Balis passed away peacefully at Brookdale Assisted Living on May 29th,2024, only 2 months shy of her 95th Birthday.
Lucille was born on July 28th, 1929 in American Falls, Idaho to Christian and Christina Krein, she was the 13th child of 13 Children. She grew up in the Fairview area until the family moved to a farm by the Fish Hatchery. She graduated from America Falls High School in 1947 “Go Beavers”. The class had regular reunions usually meeting at someone’s household for a small lunch or social. That told you how small the graduating class was.
Lucille later moved to American Falls, then to Pocatello where she worked at JC Penny’s and the Pocatello Courthouse. That is where she met and married Dalton E. Pelzel. They had two children. Randy and Pam. During this time, they moved many times over the years because Dalt was a decorated Marine, living places like California, Louisiana, Pocatello a couple of times, and even Hawaii. They later divorced.
Then Lucille with the kids moved back to Pocatello where their roots were and started a life with her kids and there and that is where she met the love of her life Marvin Gerald Balis. They married in 1980 and had 40 wonderful years together. Marvin and Lucille kept busy traveling to different golf courses across the country. They lived in Hailey and Jerome, and later in Pocatello Idaho, where Lucille always had beautiful yards and gardens. She enjoyed visiting with all of their family and friends. Lucille loved to go on hiking and snowshoeing adventures with her very good friend Enid, and Sissy Hardman
She had a very full life and had the biggest heart, everyone that met her loved her.
Lucille is survived by her Son Randy E. (Patty Paul) Pelzel, Step son Jim (Bobby) Balis, Step Daughters Nancy (Don) Sheppard, Ginny (Dean) Adamchik. Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in Death by her husband Marvin G. Balis, loving daughter Pamela Joy Pelzel and Step daughter Rosalie Balis Harrison, grandson Boe Balis, her parents, many brothers, and sisters.
Per Lucille’s wishes she has been cremated and her ashes will be spread with her loving daughter Pam and Pam’s dog Slider, in a small family and friend gathering at a later date.
