Boyd was born on May 1, 1939, to Lyle W. Johnson and Geneva Anona Bowman Johnson. He lived a life of service, dedication, and love for his family and community.
A proud patriot, Boyd began his service in the U.S. Navy Academy before choosing to serve a mission for his church in Florida. Upon returning, he married Geraldine Ray and began building a family that would become the center of his life.
Boyd was the proud father of Jay King, Erin Johnson, Brady Johnson (Amy Porter), Eden Johnson, Gavrila Chase (Brent), and Jordan Johnson (Becky Watson). Throughout his life, Boyd was driven to make a difference in the lives of others. He served as Bannock County Commissioner from 1976 to 1979 and was an influential educator, working as vice principal at Franklin and Hawthorne Junior High Schools and Bear Lake High School. Later in his career, he found purpose in helping others through his work with Beneficial Life Insurance Company and as a private counselor and life coach.
In his later years, Boyd faced the challenges of dementia with courage and dignity. His family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Caring Hearts Assisted Living Center for their compassionate care and support.
Boyd will be remembered for his wisdom, sense of humor, strong faith, and deep love for his family. His legacy of service and kindness lives on in all who knew him.
