Obituary

Mable Marie "Billie" McBride Hurst, one of thirteen children, was born on March 29, 1932, to John and Opal McBride in Sun City, Kansas. The family later moved to Idaho, where in 1948, Billie met and married Everette Hurst.

They had two sons, David L. Hurst and Everette L. Hurst Jr. Mable, better known as Billie, was a loving, hardworking, strong-willed, fiery, and fun woman. Billie and Everette traveled throughout several states, following the jobs, as many families did after the Great Depression, working various jobs to help support their family.

Billie and Everette enjoyed family time, including camping, outings, fishing, hunting and visiting relatives. Many memories were made around campfires and homemade meals. Billie was an excellent cook, especially known for her biscuits and gravy. Billie was very close to her brothers and sisters. Guitars and music were a fun part of the McBride family and Billie was gifted with this same love and talent. That love would be passed on to her oldest son, Dave.

Billie is survived by her son, David Hurst; her four grandchildren, David Hurst Jr., Theresa "Tressa" Pendley, Katrina Laughlin, and Everett L. Hurst lll; her great-grand children; and many niece, nephews and extended family members. She is also survived by four sisters, Jeanie Austin, Sue Wills, Verle Waggoner and Casey Scholer; and one brother, Lawrence "Tip" McBride.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Hurst; her son, Everette Lee Hurst Jr.; her sisters, Esther Keyt and Alice Carson; and her brothers, Cecil Ray McBride, John Jr. McBride, Earl McBride, Charlie McBride and Bob McBride.

Special thanks to the loving and caring staff at Ashley Manor. Another special thank you to all the family and friends who continually show love and support every day.
