Malcolm Wendell Pope, age 63, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, in Pocatello, Idaho, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's and dementia.
Malcolm was born on October 25, 1961, in Logan, Utah. He spent the majority of his life between Utah and Idaho, where he built a career and a family that brought him deep joy and fulfillment. He earned his degree in accounting from Westminster College in Utah and later served over 20 years as a controller and IT manager at Lewis Corp, where he was respected for his quiet leadership and strong work ethic.
A man of few words but great presence, Malcolm was known for his calming demeanor, quick wit, and dry humor. He was the kind of person who rarely complained, even in the most difficult times. One of his most repeated phrases, "It is what it is," summed up his steady approach to life.
Malcolm loved simple pleasures - reading, watching baseball, tinkering with computers, and, above all, spending time with his grandchildren. His legacy lives on in the laughter and love of his family, especially in the cherished moments he spent playing with the little ones who adored him.
Malcolm is survived by his beloved wife, Heidi; his sons, Kenyan, Ryan, Ethan, and Aaron; his daughters-in-law, Sierra, Katie, Jenessa, and Janessa; and his grandchildren, Adlee, Theron, Ronnie, Eleni, Katherine, Benji, and Kieran. He is also survived by his father, Wendell; seven siblings; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
He is preceded in death by his mother and eldest brother.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held in his honor on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the home of Malcolm and Heidi Pope. Malcolm's family invites all who knew him to come share stories, laughter, and memories as they celebrate a life well lived.
