Margaret “Marge” Rose Meyer, age 98, of Pocatello, ID, passed away on August 1, 2025 in Pocatello, ID.
Marge was born on August 26, 1926 in Belt, Montana to Steven C. Maruski and Anna H. (Zuhoski) McKay. She grew up in Belt and Helena, Montana until her family moved to Pocatello, Idaho when she was 14 years old. She attended schools in Belt and Helena as well as Pocatello High School.
Marge started waitress work at the age of 14 in Pocatello at the Bannock Hotel Dining Room; Whitman Coffee Shop and Dining Room; and the Green Triangle until the age of 25. At that time, she started selling Tupperware products in the Southeast part of Bannock County, both dealer and manager, retiring at the age of 63.
She then realized she needed something more to keep her busy, so she again joined the workforce and joined the K-Mart crew. Working for 8 years and again retiring. Her las job was enjoyable to Marge. She worked as a volunteer at the Pocatello Senior Center, and she also belonged to the Chorus at the Senior Center. She was a people person- always there to help. At the same time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, crafts, golf, and dancing.
She was member of the Holy Spirit Council of Catholic Women (CCW), Greater Pocatello Senior Center, and National Red Hat Society.
On December 31, 1951, she married C.H. (Bud) Meyer, he preceded her in death in 1998.
Marge is survived by her three sons, Michael Lee (Rochelle) Saville of McCammon, ID; William Craig (Michelle) Meyer of Pocatello, ID, and Robert Scott Meyer of Boise, ID; daughter, Alana Jean Egan (Richard) Meyers of Las Vegas, NV; 11 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steven C. Maruski; mother, Anna H. McKay ; husband, C.H. (Bud) Meyer; brother, Richard Nettleton; and sisters, Leona Nettleton and Verona Nettleton Alford.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Holy Spirit Catholic Community- Building Fund or the Greater Pocatello Senior Center.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at St. Anthony Chapel, 524 N 7th Ave, Pocatello. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Rd, with a viewing to follow from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Interment will follow the funeral mass at the Mountain View Cemetery.
