Margaret "Maggie" Richards, 83, passed away September 3, 2025.
Margaret "Maggie" Richards was born in Tooele, Utah. She was an only child. Her early childhood was spent living in her families boarding house/general store, which serviced the local miners working in Tooele. There she was surrounded by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Later, Maggie attended Idaho State University where she met her husband Rodger Richards. They were blessed with three children, Steve Richards, Julie Richards, and Danny.
Maggie was an avid gardener, loved reading and spending time with her friends and family. Maggie was always seen with a few cats at her side that she inherited or had somehow gravitated to her. Maggie spent time with her family at Island Park in a small family cabin where she loved to fish. But most important to Maggie was her only grandchild, 'Allie Jo Ryder', born to Julie and Paul Ryder. Allie was the 'Apple of Grandma's eyes.'
The family would like to give a special thanks and eternal gratitude to all the loving staff at Grace Assisted Living where Maggie spent her last remaining years. The staff was often caring for Maggie and her cat, "Baby" with equal compassion. Baby was one spoiled cat with doting attention from the staff. A particular prayer of gratitude to lifetime friends, Arleen Johnson, who was often seen at Maggie's side and participating in activities. Arleen was a constant source of strength, faith, and companionship. Thank you to Maggie's longtime neighbors and friends, Rory and Tammy Quayle.
A special thank you to One Source Hospice for the wonderful end of life care Maggie received. In particular, 'Melanie' who provided Maggie so much love, friendship, compassion, and many smiles and laughter.
