Maurice Alexander Ronneburg

March 29, 1966 — November 18, 2024

Pocatello

Maurice Alexander Ronneburg, a man of faith, patriotism, and love for family, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, after a courageous 8.5-month battle with glioblastoma (GBM). He was 58 years old.

Born on March 29, 1966, in Caldwell, Idaho, Maurice grew up in Ontario, Oregon. In 1985, he moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, where he met his eternal companion, Debbie Driscoll. The two were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 8, 1989, after each returned from serving missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together, they built a life anchored in love, faith, and service.

Maurice served his country with honor in the Idaho Army National Guard for 14 years, embodying a deep patriotism and love for his country that defined much of his life. Outside of his service, Maurice lived life fully, embracing adventure and bringing joy to those around him. He was known for his infectious humor, his love of practical jokes, and game nights shared with family and friends. A dedicated truck driver, he traveled across the country in his semi, taking in the beauty of the nation he held so dear.

Maurice enjoyed family vacations and loved exploring new places and experiencing new things. Whether camping in the mountains, enjoying sunny beach days, or discovering hidden gems on the road, he loved creating memories with his family. These adventures, big and small, were filled with laughter, curiosity, and togetherness-moments his family will forever treasure.

Over the years, Maurice enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, from camping, ATV riding, and skiing to golfing, target practice, and countless other activities. Though his interests varied, one thing remained constant: his unwavering belief in and testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Throughout his life, Maurice worked tirelessly to be a true disciple, letting his faith shine through his actions, words, and character.

Maurice was a devoted husband and father to his four children: Joshua (Katrina), Jonathan, Aaron (Madison), and Alexandra (Brian Stacks). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Logan, Maesie, and Nolan (Josh and Katrina); Oakley and Beckham (Aaron and Madison); and Keegan and Jensen (Ali and Brian). His family was his pride and joy, and he took every opportunity to teach them, laugh with them, and share in life's simple pleasures.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Bigler Ronneburg; his mother, Micheline Delobel Denney; his brothers, Sylvan and Randy; and his mother-in-law, Deanne Yancey Driscoll. Maurice's kind spirit, his humor, his patriotism, and his faith will remain a treasured memory to all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maurice's memory to the Huntsman Cancer Institute or the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge, in support of cancer research and compassionate care for families in need. Maurice's legacy of love, laughter, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to be a part of his life.
