Melinda Sue England, 66, passed away on March 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Melinda was, at her core, love. She loved people deeply and generously, and she carried a tender affection for animals, especially anything with fur that purred. Her warmth was immediate, her kindness genuine, and her presence a comfort to those around her. She had a remarkable way of making others feel welcome, valued, and cared for.
Her home was a place of refuge and belonging. Melinda opened her doors and her heart to many, including foster children who were welcomed into her care and surrounded by the same love and safety she gave so freely to others. In this way, she became a mother figure to many throughout Pocatello. Her nurturing spirit, open heart, and willingness to love without hesitation left a lasting mark on her family, her friends, and her community.
Melinda’s greatest joys were found in the people she loved. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Douglas William England, and a deeply loving grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, Richard, Willow, Macy, Edward, Finnlee, and Elijah. She loved each of them fiercely and found great happiness in watching them grow, loving them, encouraging them, and being part of their lives.
Those who knew Melinda will remember her for her gentle heart, her generosity, and her extraordinary ability to make others feel at home. She gave comfort freely, listened without judgment, and loved with a steadiness that made people feel safe. Her life was a beautiful reflection of selflessness, compassion, and grace.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable loss, Melinda’s memory will live on in the many lives she touched, the family she loved so deeply, and the community that was better because she was part of it. She was a source of light, comfort, and unconditional love, and she will be profoundly missed.
Cremation will take place, and a celebration of Melinda’s life will be held later in the spring. Additional service details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
