Michael Glen Bartmus

Michael “Mikey” Bartmus, age 60, of Pocatello, ID, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 9, 2024. Mikey was born on June 19, 1964, in Fort Worth, TX, and was known for his great love for his family and friends, and his witty sense of humor.

Mikey grew up mostly in Arizona and talked often of the time he spent in Gray Mountain. He chose to make his home in Pocatello when he was in his late 20’s so that he could be close to his brother Blake and decided to stay because of all the friends he made here. Mikey’s work life was always in customer service, and he boasted about the many compliments he would get regarding how kind and helpful he was. He made friends anywhere he went. Just to see him would bring a smile to your face and he gave the absolute best hugs.

Mikey’s life was marked by his deep affection for his cat, Sophia, and his enjoyment of television, notably his favorite shows “The Golden Girls” and various reality TV series. His personality and interests brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

He is survived by his sister. Shelley and brother-in-law Gary of Elizabeth, CO; brother Blake Bartmus of Pocatello, ID; his best friend of 25 years, Rebecca Pratt and her children Skylar Pratt, Amanda Pratt and Justin Martin, all of Pocatello, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mikey was preceded in death by his father Victor Bartmus and his mother Patricia Bartmus.

A service to celebrate Mikey’s life will be held at 4pm on August 24, 2024, at the Veterans Memorial Building located at 300 N Johnson in Pocatello. We hope that you all will come celebrate this amazing man and share your favorite memory of him. His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him.
