Michael John Mojarro, Jr., 43, passed away om April 27, 2026.
Michael John Mojarro Jr. passed away on April 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of passion, curiosity, and deep love for his family. Born in San Pedro, California, on August 28, 1982, Michael grew up with an open mind and an eagerness to experience everything life had to offer.
After graduating from Upland High School, Michael’s adventurous spirit and desire to serve led him through various professional chapters. Most notably, he dedicated over 14 years of his life as a Correctional Sergeant in California, a role that exemplified his discipline and commitment to leadership. He was always eager to learn a new skill or take on a new challenge, never settling for the status quo.
On November 7, 2003, Michael married the love of his life, Catalina. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in family and adventure. In 2021, seeking a new chapter, Michael moved his family to Chubbuck, Idaho, where they continued to create a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Michael wasn't someone who stayed in one lane—he was a polymath who threw his whole heart into his varied passions. He dedicated over 11 years to the pursuit and discipline of Jiu-Jitsu, finding strength in the journey. He was an avid reader, always looking to expand his knowledge, and he had a rare gift for capturing the beauty of the world through the lens of his camera. While he loved the peace of fishing out on the water, nothing made him happier than being in the kitchen. Michael was a gifted cook, but more importantly, he loved feeding the people he cared about; for him, cooking was a way of bringing people together and showing his love.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Catalina; his proudest achievements, his sons Alexander and Mateo, and his daughter Zahra; and his parents. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him, tasted his food, or shared an adventure by his side.
