Pocatello

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Lea Wiebe, a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, and cherished friend. She passed away on July 7, 2025. Nancy was born on August 22, 1943. Born to embrace life fully, Nancy's journey was marked by resilience, boundless love, and an unwavering spirit. At the age of 12, she survived a plane crash when a plane struck the car she and her parents were in, an experience that shaped her outlook on life.

On June 27, 1965, Nancy married her beloved Howard Ray Wiebe, a bond that flourished with love and devotion until his passing. Together, they raised four remarkable children—Julie (Oscar) Escobedo, Mike (Stacy) Wiebe, Doug (Andria) Wiebe, and Jeff (Tracy) Wiebe—instilling in them the values of independence and kindness. Nancy approached each day with a smile, finding joy in the simplest moments.

Her life was transformed by a heart transplant on May 16, 1995, an act of courage that renewed her spirit and deepened her love for family. Nancy's home was always open, welcoming anyone into her life with acceptance and warmth. She made sure that her children’s friends felt like family from the moment she met them, creating a loving community around her.

Nancy's passion for volunteering shone brightly, particularly in her dedication to delivering Meals on Wheels, where she brought joy and comfort to those in need. She cherished every moment spent swimming with her kids and grandkids at Indian Spring in American Falls, sharing laughter and creating memories. Always prepared with Pay Days and Nut Rolls for snacks, her generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her beloved children, Julie (Oscar) Escobedo, Mike (Stacy) Wiebe, Doug (Andria) Wiebe, and Jeff (Tracy) Wiebe, along with her treasured grandchildren, Jordan, Kierra, Joshua, Nicholas, Sean, Cade, and Lucas. She also embraced two bonus grandchildren, Anna and Frank Wedel, with open arms.

Her legacy of love, acceptance, and joy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Nancy Lea Wiebe will be forever remembered, deeply missed, and cherished in our hearts.
