Norman A Hill

Norman A Hill, 86, passed away on December 23, 2023.  


Norm Hill was born on September 13, 1937, in Jerome, Idaho to H. Burton and Mary Lorene Hill. His family then moved to Murtaugh, Idaho. In 1951 the family moved to Hansen, Idaho.


Norm attended Hansen High School in his Freshman year and graduated from Hansen High School in 1955.


Norm met Beth while attending Hansen High School where they both graduated in 1955. Following graduation, Norm worked for over a year in Hansen for a local farmer.


Norm and Beth were married in Hansen, Idaho on April 7, 1957. One year after they were married, they moved to Pocatello, Idaho where Beth was employed by Idaho Power. Norm enrolled At Idaho State University in the Vo-Tech electronics program, where he received his certification following three years of study. Following his graduation, Norm was employed at the then INEL for eight years. Subsequently, he was employed by Idaho Power where he worked for 27 years, retiring in 1996.


Following retirement Norm became very active in the community in the following areas:

- Served on the board of directors for the Idaho Power Credit Union

- Past President of the Pocatello Rotary Club; He was still a member at the time of his death.

- Vice President of the Pocatello Rodeo Association; host of the Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo

- Chaired the Local Issues committee of the Pocatello Chamber of Commerce for many years.

- Member of and past Chief of Chiefs for the Pocatello Chiefs


Norm had strong positive feelings for the Pocatello community and enjoyed his involvement in the many organizations.


Norm and Beth purchased an acreage in the 1970’s, where they were still living at the time of his death. He thoroughly enjoyed the ‘farm’ life.


Norm is survived by his wife Beth; son, Darrel (Julie) and their children (Norm’s grandchildren) Matt Hill, Nicole (Tyler) and Russel (Bonnie). Russ and Bonnie’s children (Norm’s great grandchildren) Hadassah and Lincoln; son, Galen (Heidi) and their two children Tanner (Shelby) and Delaney (Parker).


Norm was preceded in death by his parents, his four sisters and six brothers. He was the last survivor of his family.


Norm has been cremated and funeral services will be held on January 12, 2024, at Wilks Funeral Homes 211 West Chubbuck Road with burial on January 19, 2024, at the Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, Idaho.
