Robert Lynden Boodry Jr was born to Robert and Mildred Boodry on December 23, 1938 and passed away September 11, 2024.
Robert Boodry nickname “Bud” grew up in the Pocatello area with his four brothers Johnny, Jimmy, Denny and Terry and sister Rona McCurry.
Bud joined the Air Force on February 2, 1956 and was honorably discharged December 19,1957.
Bud and Margreatte “Maggie” met in Pocatello Idaho while Bud was on leave. They were inseparable for the next 5 days after which Bud left to go back to the Air Force Base in CA. They were married 4 months later on July 27, 1957
Bud and Maggie began their family after Bud left the Air Force. Their son Michael was born May 11, 1958 their daughter Diana was born December 18, 1959 followed by Angalee born May 15, 1962.
In 1969 Bud had the opportunity to work for the Alaska railroad which he gladly accepted. Bud loved the outdoors and wanted to share the experience of the great wilderness with his family so Bud, Maggie and their three children, Mike, Diana, and Angie all moved to Alaska. Bud was a master at hunting and fishing and was able to share his passion with his family. As a family they also experienced river trips, including the Yukon River, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ocean fishing and trapping.
In 1976 Bud moved his family to Kuna Idaho where he was employed as a supervisor at Motive Power in Boise Idaho. Bud enjoyed racing horses and chariots at this time.
From there, Bud and Maggie moved to Morgan Utah where Bud was a produce manager for Smiths Food King. Bud and Maggie moved several times while both were employed by Smiths. Bud and Maggie ended up in Meridian Idaho where Bud was re-employed by Motive Power until retirement.
Retirement was well earned, and Bud and Maggie moved to Island Park Idaho where they fell in love with the outdoors once again. They enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and trips to Yellowstone where they were able to enjoy the wildlife.
Bud and Maggie moved back to Pocatello and helped at the senior center where they also enjoyed their retirement. Their daughter Angalee (Bill) Hall deceased February 24,2023
Bud suffered from dementia and on September 11, 2024, under the care of hospice, Bud passed away peacefully.
Bud was greatly loved by his family and friends.
Bud is survived by his wife Margreatte Boodry, and his two children Mike Boodry and Diana (Steven) Packard. Bud is also survived by his 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the LDS Church, 4890 Whitaker Rd, Chubbuck, ID 83202. A viewing will be held for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Mountain View Cemetery.
