Robert Eugene Kennedy

Robert Kennedy, born on June 18th, 1943, in Renovo, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 11th, 2026. He was the beloved son of Gladys Kennedy.

Robert's life journey took him through various places, including Kane, Pennsylvania, in 1950, and later to Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1958. In 1973, he resided in Reno, Nevada. He dedicated his working years to diverse roles, including as a delivery man, an operator, working at carnivals, and in landscaping.

He was a devoted father to his daughter, Tammy Lynn Hayman, whom he raised with immense love and pride throughout her life. Robert was married once to Nancy C. Funderburk (Riley) on December 27th, 1975, shortly after Tammy was born. Though they later divorced after nine years of marriage, they remained lifelong friends, sharing a lasting affection for one another.

Robert found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for fishing, enjoyed reading, and cherished taking walks with his daughter, Tammy. His love for coffee and A&W Root Beer with milk was well-known, as was his delight in talking about his daughter. He also enjoyed cooking and visiting the Oregon coast.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Tammy Hayman, and son-in-law, Gary Hayman, both of Pocatello, Idaho, and daughter Janet Hayman of Brigham City, Utah; as well as his sisters, Doris Ann Kennedy, Linda Lee Kennedy, and Patty Sue Kennedy.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Kennedy, his grandmother, Ella L. Sullivan, his grandfather, Henry Clayton Kennedy, and an aunt who passed away six months after his mother.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID.
