Robert "Bob" Del Hensley (Sr.), 85, passed away on October 16, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous and hard battle with numerous health issues.
Bob was born November 29, 1939, to Raymond (Buck) and Irma Hensely. He was the first of 16 children. Bob married Barbara Camphouse in July 1957. They had 7 children together; Trina (Jorge) Flores, RD Hensley, Wayne Hensley, Kathy Adams, Cindy (Layton) Roland, Tracy Hensley and foster son Michael (Charlotte) Pease. Bob and Barbara were later divorced but remained friends throughout the years.
Bob worked for the Bannock Hotel from 1956-1957, then went to work for the railroad from 1957-1959. He was hired on with FMC in 1959, spending 42 years there until his retirement in 2001. Bob was a proud Reserve Police Officer in American Falls, Idaho from 1969-1984. He served in the National Guard from 1956-1959, transferring to the Army Reserves in Pocatello, Idaho. Bob met Tammy Martin, who had joined the Army Reserve and they were later married on April 20, 1985. He retired from the Army Reserve in 1993. Bob and Tammy shared their life together 40 plus years, until his death. This man was a wonderful individual. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. He was the most precious and thoughtful husband anyone could pray for.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Robin, Lois, Pennie, Nettie, Sheila, Jodie, and brothers Ron, Tom, and Yantis. He is survived by his wife, children, brothers, Deb, Buck, Dusty, and sisters Diane, Sue, and Peggy. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, too numerous to name. Leaving behind a beautiful legacy that will be carried on through the years.
I would like to thank Symbii Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care they took of my husband. You hold a special place in my heart.
Bob will be cherished in our hearts, missed by family and friends, forever loved. Until we are together again my love, rest in peace.
