Robert Dean Shuck, 87, passed away on February 10, 2026.
Mr. Robert Dean Shuck is an Air Force veteran admitted to Idaho State Veterans Home-Pocatello on 2/9/2026.
Mr. Shuck was born on 11/24/1938 in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Mr. Shuck attended college and studied biology at Augustana University. He is a member of the hall of fame at the university for track and field. He was ranked second in the 1950's for the two-mile run.
Mr. Shuck lived in various locations. He spent time in Vietnam, Hill Air Force Base in Utah, Scotts Air Force Base in Illinois, Yokota Japan, Hawaii and Sunnyvale, California.
Mr. Shuck served in the Air Force from 9/1961-9/1982 as a communications, electronics, and maintenance systems officer. Mr. Shuck spent one year overseas in Vietnam. He retired from the service as a major. Mr. Shuck is the recipient of numerous service medals including a Meritorious Service Medal, a Joint Commendation Medal and a National Service Medal.
Mr. Shuck worked for Lockheed Head in Sunnyvale, California for 20 years.
Mr. Shuck was the proud father of three sons: Richard, Michael and David.
Mr. Shuck's was an avid sports fan. He especially loved baseball. He instilled in his sons a love for sports of all kinds. Mr. Shuck's other interests included fishing, pickleball, long distance running and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
