Robert "Bob" Warren Venemon, 78, passed away at Portneuf Medical Center on Thursday, August 8, 2024 with his family at his side. Bob was born August 10th, 1945 in Pocatello, Idaho to Warren William Venemon and Berta (Baker) Venemon. He was their only child. Bob grew up in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1963. After high school Bob enlisted with the United States Navy and served on the USS Coral Sea during conflict in the South China Sea.
Bob married Carma Winn and they later divorced. He then married Janice Poole. They had a daughter, Corrine and a son, Jason. They later divorced. In 1976 he married Katherine J. (Sandstrom) Venemon. They were married 48 years. They had two children, Camille and Justin.
Bob was a carpenter by trade and helped build many apartments, houses and buildings in Pocatello and surrounding areas. Later he was employed by multiple large contractors. His last employment was at Idaho State University, in the Shops, as a Carpenter Foreman where he retired after 22 years of employment. He was a member of the local Carpenters Union and a lifetime member of the VFW and Pocatello Field Archers.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and camp with his family. He enjoyed spending time at his beloved cabin in Island Park. In his younger years he enjoyed playing on pool, bowling and softball leagues. In his retirement Bob took pleasure in perfecting many wild game smoked recipes and processing his own game.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Corrine (David) Frost, Camille Venemon, Justin (Kimberly) Venemon, all of Pocatello; grandchildren, Korbi (Josh) Murphey, Tonawanda, NY, Kristine (Zac) Korrell, Pocatello, Addison and Walker Venemon, Pocatello. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jason Venemon.
A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Wilks Colonial Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Ave., Pocatello. Graveside services will be held following the service at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5th Ave., Pocatello. A luncheon will be served following the graveside services at the Veteran's Memorial Building, 300 N. Johnson Ave., Pocatello.
