Rose M. Linton, 84, joined her family and friends February 1, 2026. Mom was born in Pocatello, Idaho, July 30,1941, at St. Anthony Memorial. Mom attended Roosevelt Elementary, Alameda Junior High, and graduated from Pocatello High in 1959. Mom lived across from Alameda Park where she met life-long friends. She always said it was a fun place to grow up.
Mom met our dad, William D. Linton, in 1958 and married March 14, 1959. They had four children, Willie, Vicki, Denise, and Janel. We grew up camping and fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Our parents were adventurous when it came to fishing and camping and we explored many places in southeast Idaho. Memories we hold dear to our heart. We moved to Tyhee in 1967. We learned so much from our Dad and Mom raising animals, gardening, and canning. For those that know us, tomato juice became a big part of our life canning six-hundred quarts yearly and enjoying mac and tom for over forty-five years.
Mom waitressed at the Holiday Inn for twelve years. After that, she started a ceramic business in our basement and eventually a candle business. Mom enjoyed sewing, making Levi quilts and/or crocheting afghans for all us kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. One of Mom’s biggest joys was supporting all her grandkids in their activities and spending time with them. She enjoyed bowling and was on a league for over twenty-five years. Mom enjoyed spending time with her family playing crazy rummy, pinocle, and especially dominoes and puzzles with her only surviving sister, Joan, who she loved dearly.
She is survived by her four children: Willie Linton, Vicki Hugues (Ted), Denise McCarty (Mike), Janel Uehlein, eleven grandkids, and ten great grandkids. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Grace, brothers Paul, Frank, Fred, Don, sister Loa, and our dad, William Linton.
