Sandra Kay Craven Uhl, 65, of Twin Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 24, 2026. She was born on August 15, 1960, to Franklin and Violet Mae Craven in Downey. She was the youngest of three daughters.

Sandy graduated a year early from Artesia High School. She became a Registered Nurse in 1984 and later completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing.

Sandy loved many facets of nursing throughout her career. She began in general surgery before spending many days and nights caring for mothers and babies in Labor and Delivery. She also worked in public health, women’s health, at the California School for the Deaf and taught at the College of Southern Idaho in the nursing program. She loved sharing stories from work and often brought home educational posters and materials that sparked lively dinner-table conversations with her family.

Sandy married James M. Uhl on March 30, 1985. He was the love of her life. One of the many blessings of their marriage was Jim’s wonderful cooking — otherwise, as the family lovingly joked, they may have starved to death.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Autumn (Roger), Amber, Melissa, Thomas, and Francisca (Luis); her sisters, Linda Bowden and Christina Bulisco; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Asbury Craven, and her mother, Violet Mae Craven.

Sandy loved the color yellow, roses, flying kites, listening to records, crafting, reading, and snuggling with her dogs.

The family wishes to sincerely thank Idaho Home Health and Hospice, with special recognition to Isabella and Kristi for their extraordinary kindness and devoted care.

Sandra’s Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2055 Filer Ave E., Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
