Sharel B. Farnsworth

Sharel Brighton Farnsworth, 83, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026.

She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on November 28, 1942. She grew up on a farm with her three sisters and one brother. She loved farm life, especially the animals. She graduated from Bonneville High School and attended Ricks College and BYU-Provo.

She married Merion Philo Farnsworth on January 21, 1967, in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple.

Sharel was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings through the years, her favorites being primary teacher and ward organist. She had a passion for reading. Sharel had a beautiful singing voice. Her most outstanding quality was her generosity. She loved giving fruit from her trees to everyone she knew. She influenced the lives of many people for good.

She is survived by her brother, William J Brighton of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sisters, Ilene Campbell of Aberdeen, Idaho, Annette Smith of Idaho Falls, Idaho, LaRee Karstad of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Farnsworth of Pocatello, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Merion P. Farnsworth and her mother and father, William Henry and Flora Brighton.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Wilks Colonial Chapel, 2005 S 4th Avenue, Pocatello, ID. A viewing will be held prior beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S 5th Avenue, Pocatello, ID.
