Sharon Lea Carrier

Sharon Lea Carrier, a mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Pocatello, Idaho, surrounded by her daughters. She was born on November 16, 1940, to Hallie Arleen and Floyd Thomas Sandusky.

Growing up in Pocatello and lived in different towns, Sharon loved working alongside her family. She was always eager to help her husband around the farm and cherished memories of going fishing. Sharon spent years dedicated to helping others, including her time working at the Bannock nursing home. Above all, Sharon absolutely lived for family get-togethers, where her vibrant spirit brought everyone together.

Sharon loved listening to Elvis Presley, Garth Brooks, Connie Francis, and classic crooners. Her favorite song was Where the Boys Are. Among her absolute favorite memories was a special family trip to the Tournament of Kings in Las Vegas, where she was chosen by the Irish King to receive the "Special Rose"—a true highlight she proudly shared with everyone. She also thoroughly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, McDonald's Happy Meals, finding great joy in playing Bingo, trying her luck at the slot machines, and gathering around a table playing cards with those she loved.

Sharon’s legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her sister, Ann (Lynn) Evans of Carlsbad, California; her children, Jacqueline (Dean) Millward, John Kevin Young, Lionel Todd (Julie) Hawkins, Donald Alan (Lisa) Hawkins of Pocatello, Idaho, and Robyn Lee (Don) Stafford of Blackfoot, Idaho; as well as 27 grandchildren and a beautiful, growing lineage of great-grandchildren who brought immense light into her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hallie Arleen Hocking and Floyd Thomas Sandusky; her dear sisters, Pat Grady, LaRee High, Margaret Funk, Barbara Felt, Carol Sandusky, and Joyce Sandusky; husbands, John William Young, Lionel Dean Hawkins, and Charles Clark Carrier; her grandsons, Benjamin Barclay, Trevor Hawkins, and Jonas Diaz; her great-grandsons, Marshall Viles, Donald Sellers, Akston Sellers, Rooke Orozco, and Silas Robinson; and her great-granddaughter, Anastasia Salgy.

The Family would like to send heartfelt thanks to the staff at Elegant Residential Assisted Living Center and Enhabit Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Sharon.

Funeral services and a celebration of Sharon's life will be conducted by her son, Todd, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, Idaho. The service will feature an open microphone period where family and friends are warmly invited to share their favorite stories, laughs, and precious memories of Sharon. There will be a potluck following services. Please bring a dish to share. The main dish will be provided.
