Sharon Esquibel

January 30, 1938 — July 22, 2025

Pocatello

Sharon Esquibel passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on July 22, 2025, at the age of 87.

Sharon was born to Victor L. Seamons and Lucilla (Holmes) Seamons on January 30, 1938, in Oxford, Idaho. She was a “surprise” baby and the youngest of four children. Since there was a 14 to 10 year age difference between her and her siblings, they spent a lot of time doting on her. Needless to say, she was raised with an abundance of love and support, and had many fond memories of her childhood years.

Sharon went to grade school and high school in Arimo, Idaho and graduated in 1956. She was a good student, always received good grades and enjoyed going to school.

After High School she moved to Pocatello to live with her sister Betty and her family. She got her first job at Montgomery Wards where she met DuWayne John (D.J.) Williams. They had a whirl wind romance and later married on the “spur of the moment.” They had 4 children, and lived in several different cities including Logan, Malad, Lewiston, and Brigham City, before finally settling in American Falls, Idaho in the early 70’s. They later divorced.

Sharon worked 6 days a week, 9 hours a day, at Roger’s Cafe in American Falls for 13 years to raise her children. She was always in the crowd during school events and encourage her children to participate in as many activities as they could and to get a good education.

She moved back to Pocatello in the early 80’s and worked as a waitress at the Littletree Inn, Oxbow Restaurant, and Dudley’s. It was at the Oxbow that she met Emilio (Joe) Esquibel. After several years of dating they married in 2001. Together they enjoyed family get togethers, traveling, visiting with their neighbors, playing cards and playing Bingo every Friday and Sunday.

Sharon was a strong, loving, compassionate women who believe that family came first and always placed their needs above her own. Whether offering a listening ear, sharing a homemade meal, baking her oatmeal cookies, or giving a heartfelt piece of advice, she was always present-genuinely and unselfishly.

She had a passion for family, conversation, and for finding beauty in everyday moments. Sharon was known for her sense of humor, her quick wit, and her ability to make others feel seen and valued. Her door was always open and her heart even more so.

Sharon is survived by her sons Kevin (Kathy) Williams, Arkansas, David Williams, Boise, her daughter Betty Vasquez (George Davis), Pocatello, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandsons, 5 nieces and 1 nephew, who will carry her memory forward in the values she instilled and the stories they will continue to tell. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Esquibel, son Kenneth Williams, parents Victor and Lucilla Seamons, sisters Maxine Bybee and Betty Kiehl, and brother Oleen Seamons.

A private family services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.

A special thanks to Michelle Herdt and Daniel Vasquez for all their help and support during the past year, and to Kristy with Heritage Hospice for her loving care.

Sharon Esquibel’s life was a gift, and her presence will be deeply missed. Her spirit, however, will remain - quietly guiding those she loved, just as she always did.
