Shawn Patrick McLeRoy

Shawn Patrick McLeRoy, 21, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Shawn Patrick McLeRoy came into this world to his loving parents, Heather (Black) McLeRoy and William McLeRoy, on March 11, 2005. His Grandma Black was lucky enough to have gotten to the hospital, just in time, to be able to witness this joyous occasion!

Shawn was loved so very much by his Grandma and Grandpa Black and Grandma Jensen, whom he spent a lot of time with. Shawn always looked forward to baking, crafts, getting dirty and tinkering with various things at Grandma and Grandpa Black’s house and late night movie and popcorn nights with Grandma Jensen. He grew up running in the backyard, with all the animals and his cousins, Johnathan and Katelyn.

Johnny and Katie have fond memories of Shawn, always acting as the “Easter Bunny”, and him filling and hiding the eggs every year. There were always good snacks, crafts, and crazy, fun times had together for holidays, camping, boating, and random weekend adventures. These always included Uncle Andy and Aunt Mariah’s fancy toys and Uncle Tony and Aunt Kayla’s outdoor expertise. Shawn always loved to catch up with his Aunt Erica, as well. He always thought about her and wanted to make sure she knew it.

Growing up, Shawn loved to go on Geocaching adventures, dirt bike riding, target shooting and hunting with his Uncle’s, Andy and Tony. They were also known to have Shawn keep their secrets for them when they were using him as their “crash test dummy”, and didn’t want to get in trouble with Grandma or their sister. Their bond stretched into adulthood, with Tony always helping Shawn fix up his bike or truck and Andy rescuing Shawn and his friends in the middle of the night with his tow truck.

Shawn also spent his childhood with his brothers, Ryker and Braxton. They had many a wild adventure together. From camping, cave hunting, “the drops”, skatepark hopping, airsoft battles, to the late-night screaming fests against the latest online villain, they were chasing together. They loved playing “Magic the Gathering” with Isaac and catching all the latest superhero movies on opening night. Those boys were inseparable. Raiden came later, but was a loved nonetheless, brother to the pack.

Shawn loved to try new sports as a kid. He tried basketball, soccer, Taekwondo, and football. Shawn continued to play football for a few years because he loved the contact aspect of the sport, but his true love was wrestling. He loved to get out on the mat and crossface the others and throw them around in “the cowboy” move. Shawn loved the 1:1 strategy of wrestling, taking after his Grandpa Black, Uncle Tony, and Step Dad Isaac. Shawn recently joined Jayme at the gym for pickleball and even participated in a fundraiser.

Shawn was also involved in Pride Patrol all through elementary school. He loved helping anywhere he could and was loved by faculty and students. He carried on with student council throughout middle school and even ran for Vice President. Shawn graduated early from Magic Valley High School in December of 2022 and was so excited that he was able to start the next chapter of his life.

His latest endeavors were tricking out his bike and fixing his truck to be ready for winter activities. He was very passionate about starting his own business with web design and media projects.

Shawn will be remembered not only for his always perfect hair, but also for his witty, sarcastic, and unmatched humor and comebacks. He is also lovingly remembered for his kindness and ability to see others’ potential, even if they were not able to see it themselves. Shawn had the hardwill, grit, determination, and the absolute greatest work ethic. He was constantly trying to find new ways to earn money and make things easier for himself in the future. He had HUGE plans that were cut way too short.

His love of animals, especially Àine, his beloved dog companion, was unmatched. She was his unwavering support and confidant through his painful loss of his brother, Ryker. Shawn and Àine’s bond was intuitive and precious. She was his soul dog.

Shawn adored being out on his bike, wind in his face and a clear mind. He always said how he felt so free and like he was flying.

Shawn was preceded in death by his Grandmother Susan Jensen, Grandfather William McLeRoy Sr.,and his brother, Ryker Stimpson-Vega.

Shawn is survived by his mother Heather McLeRoy(Jayme Paulson), his father William McLeRoy Jr., his step-dad Isaac Vega, his brother Braxton Stimpson-Vega, his grandparents Douglas and Cynthia Black, his Aunts and Uncles, Anthony (Kayla) Black; their children, Johnathan and Katelyn Black, Andrew(Mariah) Black, Erica Fritz (Mike), Jayme’s children (Kayden, Harper, Greysen, Jasper Paulson), and many other countless relatives and friends that Shawn loved and who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Wilks Funeral Homes, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho, 83301. A viewing will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Wilks Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho, and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
