Shirley Ann Davis 92, resident of Tyhee and Arbon Idaho, passed away peacefully December 25, 2024.

Shirley was born October 28, 1932 to Ruth Lanham Jeffries Schild and Henry Schild, in St. Anthony Idaho. She was brought up in the Tyhee area attending school here and was a graduate of Pocatello High School.

Shirley married Orval Norman Davis, February 9, 1950 in Pocatello, Idaho. The couple started their married life in North Carolina; where Norman was stationed during the Korean War. They continued to maintain many friendships over the years, from this very happy time.

Shirley and Norman returned to the family farm and ranch operation, located in Tyhee and Arbon, Idaho. Shirley raised three children while helping manage the family farm. Winters on a farm gave her time to develop interests in ceramics, painting and sewing. She enjoyed card parties and visits to the Arbon Store. She was an amazing seamstress and shared her talents with family and friends. She ultimately turned her hobby into a cottage business.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren while working on the family farm. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed feeding everyone at brandings, round ups and holidays.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry (Ruth) Schild, spouse Norman Davis, son Steven Davis. Siblings Betty Higbee, Bob Schild, Jack Schild , BJ (Beverly) Christiansen and an infant sister Mary Louise Schild.

She will be loved and missed by her surviving family; daughter Kathy (Doug) Alley, Pocatello Idaho, and 6 Alley grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Her youngest son Brian (Trinette) Davis, Tyhee Idaho, and 4 Davis grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

It was Shirley‘s wish to forgo a traditional funeral and burial; having outlived many close family and friends. Shirley wanted her ashes to be placed next to her beloved spouse, and son in the Arbon Valley Cemetery.

This spring, the family will announce arrangements and invite family and neighbors to join in a graveside dedication and service, for our beloved mother and grandmother.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, if you wish, please make any donations in Shirley‘s name to the Idaho Youth Ranch.
