Steven Michael Magagna, 69, of Pocatello, Idaho passed away at home on October 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Steve was a devoted husband, father, and papa whose life was centered around the people he loved most. He is survived by his wife, Kim, his children Christine (Steve) and Mitchell (Brennen), and his cherished grandchildren — Maxwell, Leah, Archie, and Henry — who brought him endless joy and pride.
Steve attended Pocatello High School, graduating in 1974, and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business management from Idaho State University. Soon after, he began his long and successful career with Farmers Insurance, where he worked for over 35 years and formed many lasting friendships along the way. Outside of work, he found peace and happiness at his beloved cabin — his favorite place in the world — where he spent countless hours building, fixing, and creating a wonderful place for him and his family to be. A true handyman, there was nothing he couldn’t repair or improve, and he always did it with patience, precision, a lot of colorful language and a well-deserved red beer.
Steve had a love for and a lifelong appreciation for the simple things that made him happy — like fishing with his son and grandson, riding his Harley, golfing and cruising in his beloved white and yellow Chevy truck.
Steve’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He is remembered for his hardworking spirit, his humor, and the deep devotion he showed to his family every single day. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave will continue to guide those who were lucky enough to know him.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at St. Anthony–Holy Spirit Catholic Community, 524 N. 7th Avenue, Pocatello, ID. A luncheon and celebration of Steve’s life will follow at the Sand Trap on Bannock Highway. All who knew and loved Steve are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Holy Spirit Catholic School.
