Susan Ann Farrell “Sue” age 74 of Pocatello Idaho passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026.
Sue was born on August 4, 1951, to Donna Mae Heggen Barrick and Walter Spratt Axley Sr. Sue brought an undeniable light into the world from the very beginning. Sue lived life with an open heart. She was best known for her infectious laughter and beautiful spirit. She was kind, funny with a quick-witted sense of humor, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Sue had a strong faith in God her maker. We can have peace knowing she is in his heavenly presence.
Sue was born in San Francisco, California and grew up in the Bay area including San Jose, California. She moved to Medford, Oregon in 1978. She then relocated to Pocatello, Idaho in 1981. Sue was a talented and well-respected Beautician/Stylist for 43 years. Her clientele consisted of men, women, children, family and friends. Sue also spent time as a Mary Kay, Avon and Pampered Chef Sales Representative. She also spent time as a potato field sample inspector.
Sue’s interest and passions included her family and her beloved pets. She had a green thumb and had many beautiful house plants.
Sue loved to travel with her husband. She was a life-long San Francisco 49er’s fan. She enjoyed playing pool and became very skilled at the game. She was an avid reader and had a large collection of Danielle Steel novels.
When she was relaxing at home, she enjoyed using her cell phone to keep up with distant family and friends.
Sue is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jack Farrell; their niece Michelle Nielsen and Michelle’s daughter Mary Jimenez. Sue and Jack raised Michelle from a young child. Susan was very fond of Michelle and Mary. Sue had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Sue had one sister, Edna Mae Axley and four sisters-in-law who loved her like their own sister. John and Norma Simmons and their son John Anthony Simmons were life-long family friends. Sue had countless friends who adored her. Sue was preceded in death by her son J.R., her mother Donna Mae Heggem Barrick; her father Walter Spratt Axley Sr., and her brother Spratt Axley Jr..
Sue’s absence leaves a profound emptiness, but her legacy of love and laughter will live on in every life she touched.
