Veronica Faith Jackman (Roni) made a huge impact on this world in a very short time. Born October 10, 2000, in Pocatello, ID, she left this world to be with her mother on August 4, 2023.
Roni loved to give of herself and had the biggest heart. She was a caretaker to all and genuinely cared for everyone she met. Her happiness came from giving of herself. Roni found purpose in helping others, she always said, “I never want anyone to feel alone.” Little did she know she made everyone feel like they were home. When she came into our family, she completed it. She was a light that held us all together.
She was an active part of the POW*MIA Awareness organization from childhood. One of her favorite things to do was to visit the veterans at the Vet’s Home in Pocatello. She even adopted a few and we would visit and take them “Roni-made” gifts. She loved the comraderies of the biker world and gave the best biker hugs.
In high school, she excelled at anything that involved helping others. Roni helped grow More Than a Stigma, a program created to bring awareness to mental health struggles and solutions. She was a student counselor so that she could help her classmates overcome struggles. She was also a two-time recipient of the Mayor’s Scholarship.
After graduation she attended ISU. She also worked as a caregiver at a developmental house for the impaired. She loved her residents so much that she decided to work full time instead of school. She preferred to work nights so that her coworkers could be at home with their families.
Roni is preceded in death by her mother Michelle and her grandparents Nana (Judy Jackman) and Grampsy (Victor Jackman). She is survived by her parents, Casey and Shellie Jackman (Idaho Falls, ID), her siblings, Morgan Jackman (Killeen, TX), McKoty Jarvis (Idaho Falls, ID), Matt Jackman (Pocatello, ID), Tanner Jarvis (Idaho Falls, ID), Kody Davis (Pocatello, ID), Tiffany Thomas (and husband Matthew, Olympia, WA) and Jennifer Jackman (Pocatello, ID) and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews too many to list.
Roni will be missed by more people than can be counted. She left her mark wherever she existed. We will be having a celebration of life for Roni this coming Friday, August 11th from 4pm to 6pm at Liberty Hall (325 W Benton Street in Pocatello). This is just an informal celebration to give the people she knew a chance to get together and enjoy reminiscing about the short time we had with her. No receiving lines, no program, or teary speeches. Above all, no sadness. She deserves better than that. Come help us celebrate the amazing but short life of this amazing woman.
We all come into this world with a certain amount of love to share. Roni shared hers, quickly, tenaciously, and completely. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho.
