W. Lois Larsen

W. Lois Larsen, 95, of Pocatello Idaho passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 following a short illness.

Lois was born April 22, 1929 in Sharon Idaho to William King and Delpha Smith, the sixth of six children. She moved with her parents to Pocatello in 1940, and attended schools in American Falls and Pocatello High School.

Mom met the love of her life, Lynden Larsen, at the Deleta Dance Hall on December 10, 1945. They were engaged 20 days later and married May 18, 1946. They were blessed with 2 sons and 2 daughters – Keith, Larry, Tina and Dianna.

Lois worked many years as a bookkeeper for various companies, ending her career as manager of Garrett Freight Lines Credit Union, retiring in July 1986.

She enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines, and loved gardening, reading, traveling, and following her husband on his many outdoor adventures. But her greatest joy was being with family. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren were the light of her life.

Survivors include her daughters, Tina (Philip) Wheatley, Dianna (Randy) Szelmeczka, Paula Larsen Wright (daughter-in-law), 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Lynden Larsen, sons Keith Larsen and Larry Larsen, her parents, siblings Camilla Lyon, James ‘Pete’ Smith, Wanda Lyon, Stella Loomis and Leona Long.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 16, 2024 at Wilks Funeral Home. The viewing will begin at 9:45, with services following at 11:00.

Internment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens following the service.
