Waltraud "Mary" Gertrud Snapp

Waltraud "Mary" Gertrud Snapp, 91, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at her home in Twin Falls, Idaho. Mary passed away from congestive heart failure, surrounded by many of her dear friends.

She was born Waltraud Gertrud Niesigk on Aug. 5, 1934, in Berlin, Germany. She met Gordon Snapp when he was stationed in Berlin while in the US Army. He was the first to call her "Mary." They married on June 8, 1957, in Berlin.

Mary loved the United States of America & became a naturalized citizen on January 14, 1964.

She was preceded in death by her parents, older sister, younger brother + her beloved husband, Gordon. She is survived by her twin sons Axel & Jorg, sister Burgel, nieces & nephews in Germany.

A memorial service for Mary will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 824 Caswell Avenue West, Twin Falls, ID, 83301.
